About this ebook

 Love don’t cost a thing… except everything.

When billionaire mogul James Preston hires an escort as a date for his brother’s wedding, he knows he’s taking a risk. One thing he won’t be taking? The escort’s clothes off. He just wants a date—not a girlfriend. Not a relationship. No strings. No ties. No games. No sex. He has his reasons. He lost someone he loved, and isn’t interested in trying again. Too many opportunities for mistakes or worse, heartbreak.

Audrey Reynolds became a high-end escort to keep her brother in his expensive group home. James Preston is the client of her dreams—he’s offering to pay her more money for two weeks than she’s ever made before. But James is... difficult. He’s gorgeous, troubled and all too human for Audrey's business-like tastes. Determined to complete her assignment and collect the money, Audrey tries to play by James’s rules. But before she knows what's happening, he's rewriting the contract.

When Audrey ends up in James’s bed, he realizes that she’s everything he’s wanted… and everything he’s been running from.

Not a bad story. But I felt it had more potential than it delivered. Dual POV, which is my personal favourite, although I agree with one reviewers comments that the internal thoughts of the hero seemed a little unlikely from time to time. I find it hard to imagine someone from his background would use language like "the real suck of the moment" for example. For the most part he's written well, but there was just a depth missing for me. Additionally, there was alot of hyperbole used. It's a style thing at the end of the day and not really to my taste. Having said all this, the journey is a good one. The story is a great length and lets you get stuck into the back stories of both characters and some of the side characters. Sexy times warning if you're not into that. They don't get up to anything outrageous (I'm not against outrageous incidentally lol), but it's certainly not in the clean sweet space. All in all, I enjoyed it and I'd consider reading more by the author. I can see alot of potential and hope they have the opportunity to develop further:).

There are definitely times when we are reading from the male characters voice that you can tell the author is a female. James is written with a lot of thoughts that you wouldn't expect from a male character, and that makes it less believable. But then she inserts little one-liners that crack you up and you forgive her for it. Overall, I like the story, and even like that it didn't necessarily always give you what you wanted, but you got the ending that you needed. The only other thing that I have to criticize was just how long the main female character took to stop beating herself up. Sometimes I feel like authors try to lengthen a book by increasing the tension unnecessarily and that's kind of what it felt like. But otherwise, I truly enjoyed reading the book. And whenever someone can write a truly hateable antagonist, he or she has my Applause. I applaud you for your execution of Mrs. Preston's character.

Outstanding book for me the detail of the book was keeping me going back and read more and more. However the thing that I realised is the first few days of the trip had a lot more details than the last week and made me kinda sad would be better to make the story a bit more fun. Loved the way the author played with the emotions it gets you quiet on your toes just reading. The emotions they had to themselves made me laugh now and then well thinking especially of that James and his traitor friend overall ill rate this a 9 out of 10 good book worth buying

About the author

Leigh James writes contemporary romance and romantic suspense. She is a vocal lover of strapping Alpha males in movies, books and real life, which makes her three kids roll their eyes and makes her husband feel appreciated. When she's not writing, you can usually find her reading or watching Outlander, Game of Thrones, and Vikings (see penchant for Alpha males, above). She has a degree in journalism from the University of New Hampshire, which is good for deadlines and word counts, and a law degree from Suffolk University School of Law with a Concentration in High Technology Law, which is helpful when writing about sexy tech billionaires with legal woes.
