About this ebook

Long-awaited reissue of the first part of the classic spy trilogy, GAME, SET and MATCH, when the Berlin Wall divided not just a city but a world.

East is East and West is West – and they meet in Berlin...

He was the best source the Department ever had, but now he desperately wanted to come over the Wall. ‘Brahms Four’ was certain a high-ranking mole was set to betray him. There was only one Englishman he trusted any more: someone from the old days.

So they decided to put Bernard Samson back into the field after five sedentary years of flying a desk.

The field is Berlin.

The game is as baffling, treacherous and lethal as ever...

This book is one of the best stories I've ever read, but reading it on either my tablet or my phone was horrible. There are somehow no page numbers, so when you stop reading and come back to it, you have to manually flick through the pages. I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for this problem

Classic Deighton. Berlin Game is the first book of a sprawling epic story of espionage of the highest quality that encompasses Berlin Game, Mexico Set, London Match, Faith, Hope, Charity, Hook, Line and Sinker. Brilliantly written. I'll give no clues as to the outcome, except to say - nothing is as it appears to be. A great tale. Enjoy!

Like others have said a bit of a slow starter but once you are into it you can't put it down. Once you have read this book you'll want to read the rest of the trilogy
