First time in the Maverick series where it becomes personal. Lennox's sister and her best friend, also a doctor, together with two Red Cross nurses are kidnapped as they land before heading to Munich. Lennox to meet them for a bit of a vacation. That creates the basis of the story and in true dark ops, Seal and military fashion. The kidnapped are extracted, and the story progresses with a number of twists and turns the genuine reason for the kidnapping is revealed. There are a number of moments to keep you on the edge of the chair wanting to know what happens next. All in all a good read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Lennox arrives in Germany so he can spend time with his sister, Carolina. She is a doctor working for the Red Cross. While Lennox waits for her at the airport so they can share a ride together, Gavin comes up and telling him that Carolina, a fellow doctor and two nurses (one female and one male), were kidnapped. The race is on to try and find them before it is too late. Lennox and the entire Maverick team work tirelessly to discover the who, what and why behind the kidnapping. Lennox has a prior history with the Helena, the fellow kidnapped victim and doctor with Carolina. Both woman have a special bond that goes back a LONG ways. Helena and Lennox verbally spar with each one whenever they are together. Lennox and Helena shared a dynamic kiss 5 years ago. It was nice to read about a pair that had a prior connection years ago but ran from each other (mostly Helena ran from Lennox.) Seeing them come together and work to figure out the puzzling mystery behind the kidnapping made for a nice bookcation. While this is a part of The Maverick series, you can really read this as a stand-alone. Lennox was in the prior book but that doesn't play in any part with this story. This story is written in a dual POV format. As the drama takes off right from the beginning practically, it was nice to see into the thoughts of the characters. Getting that glimpse into the whys and what-nots really made for an interesting story. This is a sexy read but nothing graphic in detail. It was glossed over so it was erotica by any fashion but it may offend some. That being said, I would only recommend this story to anyone over the age of 18.

I loved how this one started a bit different to the others as Lennox is just going to meet up with his sister not go on a mission however things don't go to plan now he and Gavin need to find not only Lennox's sister Caroline, but also his sisters best friend Helena who he has had a things for but never acted on and 2 other people who were also on their way home from their latest stint working overseas with the Red Cross. There are plenty of twists, bad guys, attraction, shock admissions and loads of action to ensure the bad guys don't win!
