About this ebook

Scout Beckett has always wanted to run a ranch, not just work it under the purview of his older sibling. He wants to do something different from his family’s horses and beef cattle: he wants to own a dairy farm. To this end, Scout has been working on one as a foreman, and his mentor had always promised it would be Scout’s after he passed. But when the owner dies, he wills it to his city-slicker granddaughter instead; leaving Scout in charge of a farm that will never be his.

Stella has worked for a nonprofit for years, helping to feed starving children in third-world countries. When she comes home for the funeral to say goodbye to her grandfather, the only stability she’s ever known, she finds herself falling into the arms of sexy cowboy Scout when shared loss and simple comfort turns to a night of passion before they each go their separate ways.

But three months later, Stella returns to the ranch, faced with the stipulations of her grandfather’s will: she must stay for the better part of the year, or lose the ranch to charity. Not only that, but she has to tell her one-night stand that he’s going to be a daddy. When the shock of her pregnancy wears off, Stella vows to ride out the will’s rule and get back to her old life as soon as possible.

But as Stella slowly remembers why she’s always loved the place she’s come back to, Scout has to decide if he’s okay with never owning the land he works. Is having a family enough? Or will he pass on love and passion for a farm of his own?

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third and final book in the Beckett Brothers Series. In this book, Scout is the youngest brother and works on a dairy farm, which he hopes to buy from his boss. When Scout's boss dies, he thinks it is just a matter of time for the farm to be his when he learns the owner's granddaughter Stella was left the farm. Stella told Scout she would sell him the farm because she works for a nonprofit charity and travels around the world. When Stella comes home for the funeral, she and Scout talk and end up spending the night together. Stella then returns to work and Scout learns Stella has to live on the farm for 9 months out of the year following her grandfather's death, or the farm will go to charity. Scout knows Stella must return soon or he will lose his chance at the farm. When Stella shows up, she tells him she is pregnant and plans to raise the baby. Scout wants to be in his baby's life and vows to be there for Stella. Stella was used to relying on only herself and is unused to having anyone care about her except her grandfather. Now she has Scout and his whole family trying to be there for her and she doesn't know how to handle it. Scout and Stella grow closer and start to see each other romantically, but Stella is going to return to work and take the baby all over the world and Scout wants the Baby to be with him. I liked this story. I liked Scout, i think he was a good guy who really cared for Stella. I think he assumed she understood how he felt. Stella was so used to being alone and she didn't know how to react. I think they both cared about each other and i think they made a good couple. I loved this series. Good one.

Gathered for George Steadman’s funeral, Scout Beckett, as the foreman of George’s dairy farm for the past six years, told the pastor to go ahead since they had waited over a half-hour already for the man’s only living relative. As they proceeded, red-headed Stella, in a black dress and cowboy boots, walked across the field toward them. Then they all headed back to the house for a small get-together. By the time everyone left, Stella had been awake for a day and a half and was totally exhausted. Scout took her into a room with a warm fire and they sat on the couch. He made her a whiskey sour and then talked about her kind grandfather who loved her so much. She was drawn to him to hear more because she saw in his eyes that he loved her grandfather too. Then he announced that dancing helped and, despite her not knowing how, he reassured her that he did know and it would okay. They laughed at her resisting his lead since she wasn’t used to it, and finally she relaxed and learned to follow the dance. He spun her around and made her laugh. Figuring now maybe she could sleep, he surprised her with a kiss that changed her world! He brought her a cup of coffee in the morning, then told her to come to the kitchen for breakfast when she was dressed. Stella had to return to an unfinished project overseas where she worked with the poor in developing countries. When she returned in a couple months, she would sell the farm to Scout. Stella just makes it home in time to keep to the terms of the Will or lose the farm to charity. But there’s more news for Scout when she comes home – she’s pregnant with his child! Neither of them had thought of a family. It was only a meaningless one-night-stand. How would they react? Would she still sell the farm to him? Would she stay or return to the life she had chosen for herself? No doubt about it, there were some major decisions facing the two of them. What would they do? This is a slower-paced story line that lets the reader get to know the characters to have a basis for what they will choose in their current situations. Both will have to grow up some and consider love, sacrifice, and how their choices will affect each other and their child. Grab your copy and see if they can resolve the situation in a way that is right for each of them.

Wrangling His Pregnant Cowgirl by Leslie North. This is Scout and Stella's story. I really love this story. Scout knew that he wanted the diary farm and he did what it took to get it. But George left it to his granddaughter after he died. Scout and Stella had a one night stand and now she promised to sell him the farm. But she back now and she's pregnant with his child. I love watching them fall in love, something she never really had only from her grandfather. Neither was ready for anything more but the more they were together the stronger the feelings. I love to see a man that cherished his woman. The care and protection he showed her. But they both didn't know how to express what they felt until it was almost to late. Good, enjoyed read. Made me smile at the wonderful characters and their family. Brotherhood/Sisterhood makes for a heartfelt story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Leslie North is the pen name for a critically-acclaimed author of women's contemporary romance and fiction. The anonymity gives her the perfect opportunity to paint with her full artistic palette, especially in the romance and erotic fantasy genres.

The truth of the matter is she loves her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her normal, day-to-day persona! Her bestselling books focus on strong characters and particularly women who aren't afraid to challenge an alpha male. Inspired after years of travel, her stories are set all over the world, from the tough streets of Russia to the beautiful beaches of the middle east.

Leslie fell in love with romance when she first picked up a scrappy, dog-eared romance book from her local library. She began writing soon after and the rest, as they say, was history. She now lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast and enjoys taking long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
