I bought the book and then I read the reviews, which made me feel crazy for buying it. I would recommend buying if you are a fan of the author. I finally finished and overall I enjoyed it. The book was different and there were some parts that I just didn't want to imagine. If you can get pass those parts it gets interesting because you want to know what happens. I bought this book wanting more of what I got from a "deeper love within" and "midnight" which were both great reads. I liked the spiritual part of the book. I for one never cared for Winter but seeing her in a more humble way made her seem more authentic, it made the Santiaga family seem more real.

as the woman said below the book is wack. nothing like the 1st book at all!! I would say out of 352 pages only 40 pages of the book made any sense. the book was all over the place no real direction. 15 years of this woman being in jail and this is what you came up with. not the fact she found herself but the fact of how you had the huge chunk of the book on how this woman found herself. if you are reading this please dont waste your time!! I am highly disappointed!

I don't think any of the reviews above have actually read this book. You are giving it 5 stars based on The Coldest Winter Ever. You in for a rude awakening. It is absolutely NOTHING like its predecessor. This story was poorly written and all over the place. It didn't make sense, it was crude, homophobic, demonic and just odd. I have no idea how it was green lit for publishing. I LOVED Winter Santiaga's story and if you are looking for a proper sequel, this isn't it. This book was so bad I don't even want it on the shelf next to my other books.

About the author

Sister Souljah is a graduate of Rutgers University. During her college years, she was known for her powerful voice, sharp political analysis, cultural allegiance, community organizing, and for her humanity.
