About this eBook

This is the fictionalised story of the rescue of seamen trapped on a Polish ship off the mouth of the River Tees, Teeside.

About the author

This story is inspired, and dedicated to two of my late uncles. The accident at the beginning happened to my uncle John, and the man who goes on the ship to tell the sailors to escape is based on my uncle Len. The rescue happened in the mid-1970's, and the men of the Teesmouth Lifeboat were awarded the Gold Medal for bravery by the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.
