Anhand einer transgenen Tabakzelllinie, in der eine perinukleäre Aktinpopulation fluoreszent markiert wurde, analysiert die Autorin die Kernmigration durch Hemmstoffexperimente, um der Funktion des nuclear baskets auf den Grund zu gehen. Sie erstellt ein Modell, in dem der vom Stadium der Zelle innerhalb des Zellzyklus abhängige Mechanismus sowie der Gradient der Aktindynamik für eine intakte Kernbewegung notwendig sind.

Linda Brochhausen studierte Biologie am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT). Zurzeit promoviert sie am Botanischen Institut I im Bereich molekulare Zellbiologie am KIT. Schwerpunkt ihrer Dissertation ist die Analyse pflanzlicher Zellpolarität.
