About this ebook

Autumn Hartley purchases Allen Hall at a steal, but the northern lass gets far more than a beautiful plantation in the South Carolina Low Country. The house comes complete with its own ghost, a handsome and charming Civil War General—for the Confederacy. The stage is set for another civil conflict. John Sibley Allen died in battle from a wound in the back, the bullet fired by the turncoat, Beauregard Dudley. The traitor’s reincarnation is Autumn the Interloper’s first dinner guest. Sib bedevils her date and annoys her with fleeting, phantom touches, certain he can frighten her away as he did previous purchasers. As time marches on, her resident ghost becomes more appealing while her suitor, Beau, pales in comparison. Autumn finds her ability to love didn’t perish in the divorce that sent her south seeking a fresh start. After over a century in the hereafter, Sib discovers he is falling for none other than the feisty Yankee girl, but what future could a modern woman and an old-fashioned ghost possibly hope for?

Her General in Gray by Linda Nightingale is a lovely southern ghost story. In this book, Autumn Hartley a divorced woman from the north buys a South Carolina plantation that just happens to be haunted by a confederate general. Confederate General John Sibley Allen, nicknamed Sib had been haunting his family home since his death. Now Sib must come to terms with his homes new owner and she must become accustomed to sharing a home with a southern gentleman ghost. This is the wonderful love story about this unusual couple one alive, one ghostly. This is the perfect love story. I loved the attitude of both characters and their interactions made me giggle and sigh in turn. If you are looking for a wonderful otherworldly romance, then you will love this book as much as I do. Her General in Gray is a funny and sweet southern paranormal romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a wonderful quick read. It makes for a great bookcation. I was very intrigued when I read the blurb. As a young girl, I adored watching, "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". I love to also read Civil War romance and this was the BEST of both worlds. Autumn Hartley purchases an antebellum home in the south. It is haunted by the prior owner General John Sibley Allen "Sib". Sib was shot in the back during the war not by the Union but by another Confederate solder! I adored reading this story. It is under 100 pages so it is a quick read. I only wish it were longer. Maybe an epilogue. Just something to tie in a few loose ends like the stables, the gelding... As the romance is between a ghost and a live person, this is a sweet, clean romance that anyone would enjoy. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone.
