About the author

Born Lynne Basnett in 1963, Lindy grew up in Widnes, Cheshire with her parents and siblings and became Lynne Doyle in 1983 after marrying husband John. Lindy enjoys writing poems and in 2002 she set about writing this series of short rhyming stories for her children - Martin, Maria & Amy. Lindy spotted the artistic talent of Jane Paterson and asked her to illustrate the stories to bring her ideas to life and these drawings now add extra interest for children while being read to. Lindy decided to update and rework the book in 2011 and hopes you enjoy it!
