About this ebook

This spinoff of The Replacement Crush featuring Amy and Toff is sure to melt your heart.

Shy bookworm Amy McIntyre is about to compete for the chance to interview her favorite author, who hasn't spoken to the press in years. The only way to win is to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight, but that level of confidence has never come easy.

The solution? A competition coach. The problem? The best person for the job is the guy she's secretly crushing on...local surfer celebrity Toff Nichols.

He’s a player. He’s a heartthrob. He makes her forget basic things, like how to breathe. How can she feel any confidence around him?

To her surprise, Toff agrees to help. And he’s an excellent teacher. Amy feels braver—maybe even brave enough to admit her feelings for him. When their late night practices become less about coaching and more about making out, Amy’s newfound confidence wavers.

But does Toff really like her or is this just another lesson?

the ending drags on, needs to create more sexual tension if the sex scenes are clean for YA, the plot line of a surfer being a winner being her one and only savior is weak considering he uses a whole other set of skills to help her. wasn't feeling it. didn't finish it

This is my first YA romance fiction. And this book just made me realize the potential of opening up our longtime secret crush and the fun evolved while hanging out with him. Roberts have brilliantly drawn Amy and Toff, which kinda made me crush upon this book. Being a teenager and a bookworm myself, I would highly recommend this to all who want a cute and funny romance. Thank you Lisa for this awesome book that I pretty sure will cover many other hearts too.

The Bookworm Crush is such a cute book. As a bookworm and bookstagrammer myself, I loved the whole premise of this story. Fun bookish and pop culture references, talk about book reviews and arcs, book bloggers and vloggers- if it made my heart happy at this age, I can’t imagine how much I’d love this as a teen-age bibliophile! For the most part, this was a light-hearted, fun read that any bookworm will enjoy. But there were also some heavier, more emotional parts dealing with, and coming to terms with, grief. I thought I was safe reading the last 15% at work, but man did Toff pull at the heartstrings! I loved that we got both Amy and Toff’s points of view in this book. It made some of the things Toff did a little easier to accept, being in his head and knowing his reasons, instead of just seeing them from Amy’s pov. I liked seeing how Amy really blossomed in this book. It was partly thanks to Toff’s coaching, but mostly just on her own, as she grew more confident and more sure of herself. I enjoyed the back and forth between her and Toff, and how he helped her see what was inside her all along. And I loved how Amy made Toff see that romance and relationships weren’t a bad thing! I think all bookworms will enjoy this one, no matter your age!

About the author

Lisa Brown Roberts has held a variety of day jobs to support her writing habit, many of them involving writing, but not the fun kind. She currently works in higher education during the day and writes feverishly at 3:00 in the morning, on weekends, and any other time she can convince her family to go play outside and leave her alone. Except for the cats. They can stay, because every writer needs a cat (or two) on her lap. You can find Lisa on Twitter @LBrownRoberts or visit her at her website www.lisabrownroberts.com
