I may have missed out on the first two books in this series and so some of the backstory was missing for me but it did not mar my enjoyment of book 3. Knowing that Roman and Larissa are working together and working towards maybe a relationship in this book still gave the story some oomph. Yes, you can read book 3 by itself but in order for you to get the full enjoyment I do suggest that you read book 1 into so as to get the backstory. These two will go through some things that the average relationship would never survive. The author kept the story moving and the characters interesting and had a well-thought-out so what more could you ask for in a book. Her Witchy Ways..... In the previous book we read how Larissa learned that she had witchy powers, a truth that was kept from her all her life, by a human father that thought it was the best for her after her mothers death. Her Nana always wished her to know, but respected her fathers wishes while always trying to prepare her in subtle ways. She always had a way of protecting her childhood friend Janie who accepted her weirdness and all. When an incubus tries to steal Janie's soul, Larissa finally learns the truth of her powers and her one night stand with Roman the Commander of the Stone Sentinels reveals the truth of the warriors that protect the city under the cover of magic. Now Larissa finds herself suspended and under investigation for the events that happened the night of the red moon. She is introduced to a world she only ever imagined as a child with her friend and she is determined to keep Janie safe as always. At the same time she discovers that Roman was more than just a one night stand and fights the growing feelings for the gargoyle that is all gentlemanly and quite the warrior. Commander of the Stone Sentinels Roman is having a hard time wooing his feisty and courageous mate Larissa while trying to keep the city and Janie safe from the evil demon incubus that has escaped the portal and is dead set on capturing her again, but he is full of patience as only a gargoyle can be. Will Roman, Larissa and the Stone sentinels be able to defeat the incubus on his home turf and will Larissa finally come to terms with her feelings for Roman and her witchy ways??

This is the thrilling conclusion of Roman and Larissa's romance. This is book 3 of 3. It could be read as a standalone but for a complete picture and total understanding you should really read all of the books and in order. An exciting storyline offers plenty of action, twists, danger, steam and emotion. I just loved this series and even though it ended well, I'm sad to see it end.
