Darren is the quietest of the Buttars boys but that does not mean that he doesn’t have feelings. When Farrah breaks up with him he can’t understand why because she refuses to tell him. Farrah has deep emotional problems and Darren would love to help her, but there is nothing he can do until such time as she reveals her secrets. Secrets are at the source of Farrah’s problems, and when they are revealed, she takes a tumble. Life is difficult enough but when one discovers that it has been a lie of omission, it takes a very strong person to overcome the odds. In this heart-breaking story, Darren’s steadfast love holds Farrar together and gives her the courage to face her baggage. Ultimately it comes down to Farrar who has to decide who she will listen to and who to trust. I love the Buttars men and their generous natures, and Darren is no exception. This well written story is a roadmap for all those who find they have been adopted and need closure. Although part of a series, this book is nevertheless a stand-alone and has a good conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
