Kidnapping, amnesia and fated mates (no this is not paranormal) Riordan “Rory” Malone, special ops badass Amera Resnova, lawyer and daughter of a Russian mafia figure Rory rescues Amera from a kidnapping. He is injured in the process and isn’t able to see her for six months. She doesn’t know why he has disappeared. Amera just remembers that Rory is a special person for her. The kidnapper is still coming for her, so Rory returns to her father’s house to be her bodyguard. This book was problematic for me. I had a hard time following all the names in the story. Rory is an alpha hole. He is not my favorite hero. I loved Amera. She is wounded, but refuses to stay a victim. The author mentions a seaside resort, but the location is in New Mexico? There is lots of smexy times, but this is a Lora Leigh novel after all. You should expect nothing less. 3 stars The book was provided by NetGalley for an honest review.

Riordan Malone and Amara Resnova were once lovers until they had everything ripped away from them through lies and manipulation. Not only did they lose each other but the each almost lost their lives. Now Amara finds herself depending on Riordan once again to keep her safe. She can't remember everything that happened in the past but what she does know is that the passion and love they shared was all consuming. Now the more time they spend together the more the past is coming back to her and the more their love is reigniting. If they survive the current threat will they be able to get back what they lost? This was a good and enjoyable read with lots of steam and a great romance. I would have like a little more suspense and action but overall I would recommend this one.

This is the first novel in a new series that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Amara is a woman who survived a brutal kidnapping, but lost a year's worth of memories, including who her kidnappers were. As attempts continue to be made on her life, Riordan, the man she fell in love with, but no longer remembers, strives to protect her with his very life. I loved these characters and found Riordan swoon worthy. What follows is an engaging romantic suspense that fans of the genre will enjoy. I'm giving this four stars instead of five because some parts of the flashback elements felt a bit confusing to me. Additionally, while this is the start of a new series, I felt like I had missed out on reading the back story that led the characters to this point. However, this is a wonderful novel and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
