In der Kunstakademie lernt Ingrid den Studenten Albert Berg kennen, mit dem sie sich gut versteht. Doch schon nach wenigen Semestern muss die junge Frau ihre Ausbildung abbrechen, da ihre geliebte Tante verstirbt und die Familie kein Geld hat, um das Studium weiter zu finanzieren. Traurig zieht Ingrid zu ihren Eltern zurück. Sie glaubt, mit der Musik für immer abgeschlossen zu haben. Umso erstaunter ist sie, als eines Tages ihr ehemaliger Kommilitone Albert Berg vor ihrer Tür steht und sie um einen Gefallen bittet ...
