About this eBook

Can a magical day at the Ice Festival melt this career-focused woman’s heart?

Marketing consultant Qara Whitaker loves her job, happily putting in endless hours and working through holidays. But when her grandmother asks that she accompany her on a birthday trip to Mongolia to visit their family, Qara can’t say no. Packing up her laptop, Qara boards the plane—never imagining that a shared cab ride with a stranger will change her life forever.

Hoping to push through writer’s block, author Benjamin Lacoy hops on a plane to Mongolia looking for inspiration. A chance meeting with a beautiful and intelligent woman whose smile ignites his heart leads to them playing tourists. Sparks fly and Ben is feeling far more than inspiration, yet each time he and Qara get close, she’s distracted by work.

Ben is torn; he likes Qara, but he always promised himself he’d never let work come before family and friends like his parents did. Opposites clearly attract, but can they learn to balance work with love in order to build a future together?

Opposites that attract, but will their difference in opinions keep them from their HEA. Qara is on a last minute trip to Mongolia with her grandmother and sister where she meets Ben, an author who is there for to help push him from "writer's block". They soon find themselves enjoying each other but will their beliefs in work ethics ruin it all. Thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance of Ben and Qara. Loved the descriptive writing of Mongolia, the winter activities and the delicious food.

Qara and Ben’s story in Love on the Winter Steppes by Paris Wynter, book one in her Holly, Idaho series, was a wonderful and enjoyable tale of two people who appear to be opposites, but then, opposites do attract. Qara Whitaker is a workaholic who often puts work ahead of family and a social life. When her grandmother asks that she accompany her on a birthday trip to Mongolia to visit their family, Qara is unable to say no. Packing up her laptop, Qara boards the plane, never imaging that sharing a cab ride with a stranger, her grandmother befriended will change her life forever. Frustrated that nothing has worked to get Benjamin Lacoy through his writer’s block, Ben impulsively flies to Mongolia, looking for inspiration; the location for his book. An unexpected encounter with a grandmother and her granddaughters allows him to experience cultural events and explore the main attractions with a knowledgeable source; especially accompanied by the beautiful and intelligent Qara. Ben and Qara are magnetic when they are together. Ben finds the inspiration he needed to get past his writers block with the help of Qara and the beauty of Mongolia. There is major chemistry between these two and Ben is feeling more than inspiration; yet, whenever he and Qara get close, but they are often interrupted by her work. Qara is in need of a wake-up call, learning how to prioritize and balance the demands on her time – work, family, and Ben. With a promotion on the line, Qara needs to make some decisions about her future, especially if she wants a future with Ben, once they return home. Ms. Wynter wrote a wonderful story that grabbed me with the descriptions of how beautiful Mongolia is as well as educating me about the people and their culture. She provided a tale rich with chemistry, family, descriptions of beautiful scenery and charming characters giving Qara and Ben a chance to work together, helping each other overcome weighing issues as they realize that they are perfect for each, and deserve to be together. I highly recommend Love on the Winter Steppes to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
