One of the best books I have EVER read! (And I have read thousands of them over the years) It tells the story of the great westward expansion from the Comanche's point of view. It also tells about a way of life in a rough wild and beautiful, untouched, unpolluted country. A simpler but more savage time on the Plains of North America and the vicious way that an entire race of people was robbed of their way of life and their home.

I was so happy when I found the digital edition of this book on Google Play Books. I've been searching for another copy for years, because it was my mother's favorite book, and between her, myself, and a friend she once lent it to, we read her hardcover until about 50 pages of the book started to fall out and the binding started to disintegrate. It'll be 3 years this October since my mother died, and I've finally found what we so fervently searched for: a new copy of Ride The Wind. Mom would be so happy.

My uncle let me read his copy for the first time when I was 12 years old. I pretty much haven't been able to put it down since. I've read it 16 times! I would love to see this made into a screenplay. That won't stop me from reading it again, though.

About the author

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, Lucia St. Clair Robson has been a Peace Corps volunteer in Venezuela and a teacher in Brooklyn. She lived in Japan for a year and later earned her master’s degree before starting work as a public librarian in Annapolis, Maryland. She lives there now in a rustic 1920s summer community. Lucia Robson’s library experience of presenting programs to a variety of audiences trained her in the craft of storytelling. She brings to the task of research a reference librarian’s dogged persistence and an insider’s awareness of how to find obscure sources of information.
