Lily Michaels is working on her craft as a new witch, enjoying life, and running her shop in the quaint town of Pembroke Cove. …Until four magicians show up at the Cozy Nook Bookstore determined to get Lily's book, Practical Beginnings. The book isn’t for sale—not that they could use it anyway, as they’re not a Michaels’ family members. Her familiar, Milo, is ready to do all he can to protect his favorite witch.

Upon opening her store the next day, Lily discovers a body—one of the men who tried to buy her book. Detective Gage Erikson, her fiancé, turns the case over to Dax Peters since Lily is the main suspect in the murder. Despite her confidence in her friends on the police force, she must move quickly to learn who is responsible. She’s pretty sure one of the three remaining magicians should be the prime suspect, but which one? Or did they conspire to commit murder together?

As Gage and the rest of her friends from Pembroke Cove stand beside her ready to solve the case, Lily knows this puzzle will be her greatest challenge. Not only does she need to clear her name and protect her book but Lily discovers dark magic can lead to murder.

Magicians & Murder is the seventh novel in the A Book Store Cozy Mystery Series; although each book can be read as a standalone, it is best to read them in order. It is a sweet, clean, cozy mystery that guarantees the culprit is caught. Happy reading!

This author's books are well written, well thought out with interesting story lines and loveable characters. She also does not follow the Stupidity Formula that is so common nowadays with characters that cannot communicate, and act and think stupid. There aren't any silly misunderstandings. Bookstore Cozy Mystery Series: Magicians & Murder, #7 - Interesting story lines, good characters and a move with their romance. 4* Books and Bribes, #1 - Usually a romance writer, Ms. Race tells a good witchy tale quite a lot better than the usual dumb down Cozy. Good characters, talking animals and a sweet romance made for an entertaining, enjoyable read. 5* Catnaps & Crimes, #2 - Interesting. Romance become more of a focal point for the two best friends. It was easy to figure out the killer but still a good story with a good core of regular characters. 4* Tea & Trouble, #3 - There's another murder with all kinds of "I did it" confessions. Dax and Gage open Lily's eyes. With plenty of secrets

The next day she's at the store when she sees a body under a bookshelf that was bolted to the wall. More it looks like she may have killed him. He's one of the for magicians who wanted the book. What no one send to understand is that no one but the Michael's family will be able to see the spells. Now the hang are on the trail of who the real murderer is because it's very clear that they are trying to frame either Lily or her Aunt who use to date the deceased.
