About this ebook

Enjoy this clean, small-town western romance by award-winning and bestselling author Lucinda Race.

In a small Montana town, love blossomed between Renee Mitchell and Hank Shepard. As teenagers, they were inseparable until a misunderstanding during freshman year of college drove them apart. Two decades have passed since they’ve talked, but a family emergency brings them full circle—back to where love blossomed.

Renee’s lifelong dream was to take over her family’s apple orchard. But a herd of cattle wreaks havoc on her newly planted trees.

Thundering across the pastureland, astride a black stallion, Hank Shepard is ready to save the day and drive the cattle back to his family ranch. Now that he’s back, he’s intent on mending more than fences. As he works by Renee’s side, helping her replant the tree stock his family’s cattle destroyed, dormant feelings between Renee and Hank spring to life like the orchard after a long, cold Montana winter.

Yet, it’s inevitable that Hank will return to his law practice in Texas. Will a long-distance relationship between Hank and Renee fan the flames of love, or will it vanish like apple blossoms in spring?

Second Chances in Montana is the first novel in the Cowboys of River Junction Series, although each book can be read as standalone. A sweet and clean romantic story with a guaranteed happily ever after. Happy reading!

This is a sweet, clean, second chance romance with engaging characters and a realistic storyline. The main characters are mature and approaching their forties, loved each other in their teens, went their separate ways but never got over their first loves. It is a wonderful start to the series and I look forward to reading book 2. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Renee is floored when she sees Hank riding towards her. It's been years since they parted for college, stepping out into the world, ready to live their best lives. They couldn't compromise, so they split, forging separate paths though they had loved each other forever. Now she's home to stay, taking over her family's apple orchard. He lives in Dallas, so very far away from his small hometown. And he doesn't want to come back. Time has done nothing to erase the longing either feels, though. Maybe this time around, they'll get it right. A sweet story filled with wonderful characters, down to the cows who stomped all over Renee's saplings. The lovers might never have spoken again if not for those hungry bovines. I thought the resort angle would be more dramatic, but it fizzled out with no drama. Maybe in the next book.
