Lucky Break, the third book in Carly Phillips Lucky series trilogy, and is another second chance love story. This is Jason Corwin and Lauren Perkins’ story. According to family history, the curse was put in place by a Perkins from long, long ago. While the younger generation is starting to question the curse, the older generation is unwilling to be convinced otherwise. After Jason and Lauren reconnect, the good old boys will do whatever they can to stop the relationship from happening. But Jason is determined to show them that while Lauren may be a Perkins but she has nothing to do with the curse. She and Jason just want to have their chance at love. While in town, Lauren just wants to sell her deceased grandmother’s house and take care of her sister, who is in a prison psychiatric hospital. The doctors are saying she is in a comatose state, but all is not what it seems. After finding an old diary in the house they are fixing up, Jason and Lauren work together to solve the mystery of the curse. Will they figure out the mystery and solve the curse or will the curse continue for future generations? Will they be able to tie up all the other loose ends too? You need to read and find out. Ms. Phillips is a wonderful storyteller which she demonstrated in this story. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting it down. This is a great book with plenty of romance and suspense, as well. I recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is the third book in the Lucky series and my favorite book. I rated each book a 5 but if i could I would have rated this one higher. Jason Corwin was an Olympic bound snowboarder who is back in town because he has been accused of using illegal drugs so he can't be in the Olympics. Lauren Perkins, a dress designer, is back in town fixing up her late grandmother's house to sell. She needs the money to help her with her sister Mary Elizabeth Perkins' defense. Elizabeth is in a mental hospital (if you read Lucky Streak you will know why) and Lauren wants to help her. This is not only Jason and Lauren's story but all the Corwin's story. Carly Phillips, whose real name is Karen Drogin, was born on July 7, 1965 in New York. She received an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University. She eventually became a lawyer, but never really enjoyed practicing law. After having her first child, she decided she wanted to write a romance novel.
