About this ebook

A heartwarming dog story like no other: Tuesday, a lovable golden retriever, changes a former soldier’s life forever.

A highly decorated captain in the U.S. Army, Luis Montalván never backed down from a challenge during his two tours of duty in Iraq. After returning home from combat, however, his physical wounds and crippling post-traumatic stress disorder began to take their toll. He wondered if he would ever recover.

Then Luis met Tuesday, a sensitive golden retriever trained to assist people with disabilities. Tuesday had lived among prisoners and at a home for troubled boys, and he found it difficult to trust in or connect with a human being–until Luis.

Until Tuesday is the story of how two wounded warriors, who had given so much and suffered the consequences, found salvation in each other. It is a story about war and peace, injury and recovery, psychological wounds and spiritual restoration. But more than that, it is a story about the love between a man and dog, and how, together, they healed each other’s souls.

This was one of the most beautiful books I have ever read, and I've read a lot of books! I didn't just love this because it was about a dog, being the dog lover that I am, I also loved learning more about army veterans. It was heart-breaking to read about the struggles they go through, but reading about the bond Montalván had with a wonderfully-spirited Golden Retriever was so beautiful. Dog-lover or not, you're going to enjoy this book.

I truly liked your book. Tuesday is a wonderful four legged person. My son is in the army and in four years will have out in his twenty years. Over a year in Afghanistan, and two in Iraq. He has PTSD and you have help me to understand. He has shades, curtains. and towels over the windows so nobody can see in and we stay out of large crowds because he starts to panic. He won't go into the PX at times when there is a lot of people. I give you all my blessing to the two of you. I thank you again. Johanna Giese Stevens

A lovely, true story of a veteran and the golden retriever who literally saved his life. This book rings true throughout. The author clearly had hurdles to overcome and overcome them he does while giving all the credit to his dog. Touching and poignant, this book is a must read for anyone working with veterans or preparing service dogs for veterans.
