This is book four in the Danger Never Sleeps series. I feel it is a stand alone, however you will miss history of some of the characters in this book, if you do not read book one (Collateral Damage), two (Acceptable Risk) or three (Active Defense) first you will miss some history of the characters but not enough to leave you wandering what is going on, but enough you will probably want to read them all. I love the writing style of Lynette Eason, she does a great job developing her characters, and their circumstances. This book is full of mystery, suspense, friendship, and of course romance. We reconnect with characters we met in previous books and learn more about them. Ava and Caden have been friends for a long time, He has been there for her many times, and this time is no different. There are many twist, turns, suspense and mystery in this book. Ava must try to stay ahead of a madman and solve a puzzle to find the answers to many questions. If you enjoy intense, suspenseful romance you will enjoy this. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Nicolai wanted answers, the photo of a child, was she the daughter of his enemy, finding Maksim he would know. What he didn’t expect, a gun appeared before he got the answer. FBI Caden Denning, his partner Zane Pierce . With 3 families, in three different states, pictures taken from each scene, showing they knew one another. As a kid he knew Ava and her brother Nathan, finding a photo in an attic of her with her father. A man who didn’t have pictures taken and in Russia. Ava was fluent in Russian, recognizing and questioning the photo, she is the piece, the killer wants, but why. I like the plot line, you have the connections now to figure out what this serial killer wants. To find a teen boy that wasn’t at home, learn fighting while going to a dojo, and could recognize the killer. Old photos of a little girl. A good story and a good series worth reading. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion for Net Galley and Revell.

After reading the first three books in the Danger Never Sleeps Series I could not wait to get my hands on Caden’s story! Who doesn’t love a protective big brother? He had no trouble winning my heart not too long after I met him. I was dying to see what type of woman would be the one capture his heart. As it turns out, Ava is the type of person we all want to be. She is physically fit, able to hold her own in a fight, and also incredibly smart. If she wasn’t all those things I might be tempted to think she isn’t good enough for Caden, but she’s proven herself worthy. Hostile Intent was impossible to put down. It was heart breaking, terrifying, and yet also romantic. I love trying to figure out a good mystery and this one kept me on my toes. I enjoyed watching Ava and Caden’s chemistry and how they played off of; and learned to lean on each other. This story completely took me by surprise! There were so many unexpected twists and I loved playing detective right along with them. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense. This novel was a great addition to the series, but I would say it can also be read as a stand alone. Lynette Eason is one of the best, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
