Arghhhh!!! I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers, but I'm enjoying the ones that the Malones cook up. In "Force", we're re-introduced to sassy, speaking-her-mind JJ. I loved her in the "Shameless Trilogy", and the Malones managed to endear her further to me. She's a mix of vulnerable & tough, and Jonas can't help but be drawn to her. Jonas is in protector mode almost all of the time around her, and JJ is unaccustomed to a man being this genuinely interested in her. Jonas has a hero complex, and is able to read people, especially women well. Though JJ insists that she's fine, he knows better. He persists until JJ feels comfortable around him, hoping that she'll let him in. As with the "Shameless Trilogy", there are a lot of secrets to uncover, and I absolutely cannot wait for Book #2!! I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

I've decided that Nana Malone and Minx Malone hate me. Teehee! This book was full of banter, suspense and steamy sex. JJ is fun, independent and scarred. Jonas is serious, protective and scarred. When JJ and Jonas get their act together and come together it's explosive. I liked both these characters better than Noah and Lucia. Nana and Minx Malone did a good job of making me feel JJ's fear and Jonas's sadness from the past. In my opinion the story line is great and kept me on the edge of my seat turning the pages. Nana and Minx Malone did a good job of surprising me with a twist I did not see coming. Not sure if this is a spoiler the book does end in a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book. In my opinion this book is better than the Shameless series. Nana and Minx Malone did not disappoint me. I was given an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
