I absolutely loved this book! I have so missed Henry and Jay, and I had always wondered about the early nuances of their relationship, and how Henry was able to help restore a once broken Jay to the bright, beautiful, and effervescent man that he is now. When Jay comes to Henry, he is so broken and desperate, and with his self-esteem and confidence shattered, he truly believes he is not worthy of anything better than being the object of emotional and physical abuse. Henry is beyond attracted to Jay (which hasn't happened in a long while for him), yet he will not sacrifice Jay's training or his emotional and physical well being just to satisfy his own selfish urges. Lord knows he wants the boy... more than anything, but can he have Jay and still respect himself as a dominant and a man? My heart just ached for Jay when I read this. It ached for Henry too. M.Q. Barber has truly given us the most beautiful love story here. These two incredible men… each suffering in their own way… each needing the other to be truly whole. Their journey to that realization and Jay’s road to healing make up some of the most compelling writing I have ever had the pleasure of reading.
