JR中央本線・高尾駅で下車。バスに揺られて40分ほどの「陣馬高原下」で降りて、標高857mの陣馬山へ向かう。田舎の風景に見とれながら舗装された陣馬街道を歩いていくと「新ハイキングコース」入口に到着。ここからが険しい登山道となる。入り組んだ木の根っこに気をつけながらの登りは予想以上にきつい！しかし360度の眺望が楽しめる頂上に着くと疲れが吹き飛んでいく。3件のお茶屋は趣があり、丹沢山塊や秩父山系、遠くには富士山も見える。
