Naughty, steamy, and such fun to read. A man who does not trust women and has certain tastes meets a young woman who is a cousin of a friend. This young woman is finding that certain things hold an interest to her. Now our lady is not really into the whole romance love thing and our gentleman is no not into marriage but it appears good old fate has other ideas. I liked that the author showcased the earl problem it was well done. I enjoyed the characters and the journey to their HEA.

While the story begins in a slow burn of desire, it quickly heats up to a flaming passion. The details of the time period are meticulous, and the intimate scenes are erotic and titillating—think 50 Shades meets Bridgerton. Once begun, the book is difficult to put down, and you’ll find yourself scorching your fingers as you flip pages to see what delicious lesson Edward has next for Sophia. And this is only book one!

I haven’t read a historical romance book in a long time. Sophia’s Schooling made me realize what I was missing. From the beginning I was hooked. I could not put it down. Both Edward and Sophia were scared of love. Everyone Sophia loved either died or left her. Edward was too afraid to love for fear of them finding out his secret. I loved how she surprised Edward at every turn. She was strong. He came to realize that she wasn’t like everyone else, but can she be trusted? They were perfect for one another. Their relationship from the beginning did not come easy. They both fell for the other, but their fears held them back. They had to learn what being together meant and what it was to trust the one you love.

About the author

Maggie Sims began her love affair with romance before her teen years, drawn to the Regency by her mum's British influence. She did her best to live the Carrie Bradshaw life in New York City, albeit with less expensive shoes. Despite reading hundreds of romance novels in her life, she was still blown away when she met the love of her life, an ex-Marine cinnamon roll with creative culinary skills.Having retired from corporate life, they live in Central Texas and are parents to a varying number of dogs and cats. When not writing, Maggie is a wine enthusiast, a travel junkie, and a romance reading fiend. She also sporadically crochets for KnotsofLove.org and does just enough exercise for that second glass of wine at night.
