read this back in high school. enchanting. love how he weaves two seemingly disconnected narratives together in a chilling revelation near the end of the book. a bit of a romantic twist that I wish didnt end so... well... I leave that to readers to discover.

this book was over all one of the most sad and impressive stories i have ever read. it was a genuen tale of bad fortune and death. i do believe it is a must read.

MARCUS SEDGWICK is most recently the author of Revolver, which was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal in the UK and received four starred reviews in the US. The author of eleven widely admired previous novels, he lives in Sussex, England.
