About this ebook
Martha Dandridge was born in New Kent County, Virginia, in 1732. She married Colonel Daniel Parke Custis, son of John Custis of Arlington, at the age of seventeen. They had three children. The oldest son died at a young age and his father died soon after. She married George Washington in 1759 and they made their home at Mount Vernon, Fairfox County, Virginia. She died in 1802.

Mrs. Conkling captured the inner beauty of both Mary Ball and Martha Washington, the most influential women in the Father of our Countrys' life! This book ought to be in every library across America and in every classroom. Our young people need to know of virtue, honor and devotion once again. Martha was a Virginia bell, with all it's beauty and charm, and a devoted wife. Mary, his mother, reared him - molding his character to become the greatest. Womanhood and motherhood are truly captured in this brilliant book.
