Waiting for Snow is part of Mari Carr's fabulous Sparks in Texas series, and is about Adele Sparks and Porter Cormack. Adele's not been too lucky in love, with her last relationship breaking off when he moved to the big city. The string of guys she's briefly dated since then aren't hitting any of her buttons. Somehow she's fallen into a kind of odd friendship with Porter, the quintessential bachelor, too hot, too old, too footloose and fancyfree for her. But her inner self keeps perking up when Porter's around. Porter's been content to keep his romantic connections physical and brief. He's clear on what he's in for, and his partners are always satisfied. No one's turned his head or made him consider wanting more until he and Adele share a dance. And then he realizes what he's been waiting for all this time. Mari Carr's Waiting for Snow is a sweet, hot story of two seemingly unlike souls who come to recognize in the other their other half. These two have a lot of love to give--they just needed to find the right one to give it to. As always, Ms Carr's characterizations are well rounded and ring true, and Addie and Porter's family and friends bring humor and warmth to the pages as well. A terrific and very welcome addition to the Sparks in Texas series!

I've read many books by this author, but somehow skipped over this series! I'm not sure how that happened but after reading this book, I'm going to have to correct that oversight! I can, however, say that this story can be read completely as a stand alone! This isn't a very long story, but rather a quick, sweet read that left me with a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart! Not many books leave me with an "awwe!" feeling at the end, but this one definitely did! Addie is searching for her future. She knows what she wants. She wants it all. She wants her someone. She wants marriage, white picket fences, and babies. And she wants it in her hometown. She loves who she is, and where she lives. And she tries to find it. But her dating life is ......less than stellar. It's definitely a case of not being able to have the one you want, and not wanting anyone you can have! This book is fast paced, and sweet, but definitely has a level of heat you usually only obtain in longer stories. It was fun, and left me happy. It's perfect reading for a cold winter's afternoon, when you are snuggled up on the couch with hot cocoa!

Adele has always been interested in Porter. Who wouldn't be? He's a good looking cowboy with a great personality. But Adele just knows he'd never be interested in a girl like her. Besides, he's the king of one-night stands. Her family have been getting married and she feels left behind. She has dated duds and just recently broke it off with her last boyfriend. He was a nice enough guy but Adele needs more. Porter has been interested in Adele for a long time and he's finally ready to make his move. He wants to settle down but can he make Adele seeel how he really feels? I love this book. It was opportunity to catch up with some great characters from the series. I love Mari Carr's writing and this book did not disappoint. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
