I'm obviously biased as the study series is tied for my all time favorite series. I literally cried with excitement reading the first chapter and getting to read the scene that captured me in Poinson Study from Valek's POV (not the only time I cried reading this book) but even as though I wouldn't personally reconend it as a dtand alone it really speaks to the author's talent that this has the ability to be read as a stand alone book. I finished the book within 24 hours and honestly would love to see the next two books from Valek's POV as well

I've loved Ms. Snyder's writng since reading her Compton Crook Award winner Poison Study, and have read (I believe) all of her books set in Ixia and Sitia This book returns to that world, retelling the events of Poison Study from the viewpoint of the other main character, Valek, and maintains the high quality of the entire series.

Totally worth it 🥰🥰🥰 read it along with poison study. So to get all the fealings and what's happening with both alongside both. Really hoping there will be more ♥

Meteorologist turned novelist, Maria V. Snyder has been writing since she was bored at work and needed something creative to do. Over twenty-two published novels and numerous short stories later, Maria's learned a thing or three about writing. She’s been on the New York Times bestseller list, won a dozen awards, and has earned her Masters of Arts degree in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University where she's been happily sharing her knowledge with the current crop of MFA students. When she's not writing, she's either playing pickleball, traveling, taking pictures, or zonked out on the couch due to all of the above.
