I was glad to be gifted by the author with a free copy of this book, just for the promise of an honest review. I'd wanted to follow the story of these children who've developed adaptations to different ecobiological challenges in the ecosystem within which they grew up. Being different caused both rejection and honors depending on people's viewpoint. Science fiction with a developed story line delving into relationships and not depending on horrific space warfare to provide all the suspense and interest is hard to find-but this series has that, an essential in my estimation. Good series and worth reading.
