Marley wants to prove herself to her father, a wealthy man who expects so much of her. She wants to prove herself to her step-brother, the little boy she adores with all her heart. She is in charge of her step-brother's birthday party and will do anything to ensure its success. But Marley is young, brash and occasionally given to inappropriate behavior. This is why she treats the handsome pizza delivery man so brusquely. She doesn't mean to be rude. She doesn't mean to be insensitive.
