(Wie ein Entwicklungshelfer über einen katholischen Orden) Längere Zeit ehrenamtlich in der Jugendarbeit und in der Erwachsenenbildung tätig. Noch aktiv im "Eine Welt Laden" (fairer Handel), bei einer Menschenrechtsorganisation und bei der freiwilligen Feuerwehr. Zudem Familienvater, Laientheologe und hobbymassig Sozialwissenschaftler.
