A Family Affair: The Invitation is Book #22 in her Truth in Lies series which takes place in the fictional small town of Magdalena, NY. Many of Mary’s readers have told her it is a town they would love to live in. The series starts when Christine Blacksworth’s larger-than-life father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, a hundred miles from the “getaway” cabin he visited every month. Christine discovers a secret that threatens everything she’s always held to be true—her father has another family which includes a mistress and a daughter. This shocking discovery makes her wonder which “family” her father considered his “real” one.

Mary writes about subjects close to her heart: hope, redemption, forgiveness and second chances. Growing up in a small town in western Pennsylvania, Mary has a real-life understanding of life in towns like Magdalena, NY.
