All the time he is being chased by his own countrymen and the imperial agents of Shi who will stop at nothing to see the Black Dragon destroyed in order for their iron rule to continue.

Haven't read for a while and was the perfect book to get me back into it. Good pace; complex and relatable characters; and what felt like a story based in history with a touch of the mystical. Thoroughly enjoyed and keeping an eye out for more titles from Matthew Sturley.
