About this ebook

Agent Maggie de la Cruz's problems are just beginning when a high-ranking defector from Jihad Nation doesn't show up for a secret meeting in Paris. Suicide bombers appear instead. And when the woman who snared Kafka, the defector, is killed in the attack, it’s up to Maggie to assume the dead woman’s identity and lure him to the Agency’s side before he escapes to Iraq. Dismantling a billion-dollar Darknet operation funneling money to terrorists committing genocide hangs in the balance.

*** This novel may be read standalone but is the second in The Agency Series. THE CAIN FILE is book 1.

About the author

Born in the wilds of San Francisco, with its rich literary history and public transport system teeming with characters suitable for crime novels, the stage was set for Max Tomlinson to become a writer. He has published six novels to date: SENDERO (listed as one of the top 100 Indie novels of 2012 by Kirkus), WHO SINGS TO THE DEAD, LETHAL DISPATCH, THE CAIN FILE (selected by Amazon's Kindle Scout program), and the follow-up, THE DARKNET FILE, published in March 2017. Max's Colleen Hayes Mysteries of the '70s debuted August 20, 2019, with Oceanview Publishing. The first book in the series is Vanishing in the Haight.

Max's alter ego, Max Radin, is also known to pen the odd humorous effort. Check out "Rock 'n' Roll Vampire" for a shocking exposé on vampirism in the music industry.
