James F. McNamara is a professor at Texas A&M University. He holds graduate faculty appointments in the Department of Statistics in the College of Science and in the Departments of Educational Administration and Educational Psychology in the College of Education. While at Texas A&M, he has been a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan and an advanced study fellow at Ohio State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Texas A&M, he held academic appointments at Columbia University and the University of Oregon. He is the author of Surveys and Experiments in Education Research. Before pursuing a career in higher education he was a high school mathematics teacher in New Jersey and an administrator in the Bureau of Research in the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction.,
David A. Erlandson is a professor of Educational Administration and Director of the Principals’ Center at Texas A&M University. He has written or edited several books and monographs related to the professional development of principals and has contributed numerous journal articles on this topic. Prior to coming to Texas A&M University he served as a public school teacher and administrator in Illinois and as a professor in the school administration program at Queens College of the City University of New York. Dr. Erlandson is co-editor of the School Leadership Library and co-author of Organizational Oversight: Planning and Scheduling for Effectiveness, a volume in that series.,
Maryanne McNamara is a supervisor of student teachers at Texas A&M University. While at Texas A&M she has been a program evaluator in the College of Education for the Texas School Leaders Program (funded by the Danforth Foundation) and a teacher of English as a second language in the College of Liberal Arts for international students enrolled in the English Language Institute. She has taught English and American Literature in Texas and New Jersey high schools and has served as the coordinator of alternative education programs in the College Station (Texas) Independent School District. Her research publications focus on improving teaching and learning in schools.
