This prequel follows a young, new to the force Detective Petrosky as he seeks justice in a deeply personal case. Fans of the Ash Park series will enjoy this glimpse in to how Petrosky became the man we all love, no matter how cranky he gets. Those new to Ash Park will get a taste of O'Flynn's dark, twisty mysteries that will make them sure to buy the whole series next. This story is suspenseful, shocking, and sad, but also funny with a touch of hopefulness. It's a quick read that I would recommend to any mystery fan.

This wonderful murder mystery is well-written, has intrigue, suspense, and offers us a chance to know Ed more intimately. We discover why he has the JD habit as well as the reasons for his obsession with helping women in trouble. The reader will be so engrossed in this realistic thrill ride that it will be next to impossible to set this book aside. I loved it, and recommend it as a must read for the Ash Park Series. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

He loved her. She caught his eye and his heart all in the same night. He believed her and in her. Until the night it all fell apart. All of his dreams, his reality shattered. Who was she? Did she lie? Was any of it real? Ms O'Flynn does it again. Adding to a series of books each a standalone but a read so good it will have you flipping from the first page. Nothing s what it seems and everyone is suspect. They all have secrets and he's gonna have to dig through them all to get to the truth. This author gives us a story which will twist you inside and out and leave you spinning. When you think you have it figured out she will flip the script again. I love this author's books and her characters. You don't know if the one you love is the one who is the good/bad guy til it's over.
