About this ebook

When you’re born without a trace, no one knows you’re a weapon.

I lie for her.

I hunt for her.

I kill for her.

And above all, I betray my mission for her.

She doesn’t know why. She doesn’t care why.

I do.

Treason comes in many forms.

Love is one of them.

Our training taught me to be a sociopath. A machine. A pawn. Nothing more than a tool for a larger goal, without attachments or feelings.

Our teachers forgot one important detail:

Pawns shouldn’t have hearts.

Yet we do.

It turns out our emotions are our greatest weapon.

And I know exactly where mine are aimed.

The first in an all-new series by USA Today bestselling author Meli Raine.

Meli Raine has been on my TBR forever but life has always gotten in the way of me starting any of her series. But, since this is a new one, I decided to dive in. I did feel a little lost about what Stateless is and I wonder if that's because I haven't read any of the interconnected series to this one. Once I finally felt like I understood what was happening, I was totally into this story and couldn't put it down. There's so much suspense that I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, waiting to see what was going to happen. This book ends on a cliffhanger, which isn't usually my jam, but this only made me more excited for book two!!

Ok, gotta be honest... I have never read a book quite like this one. While the beginning of the book, I felt like there was a back story I was missing, it wasn’t enough that I ever felt a desire to set the book aside. On the contrary, I was severely sucked in and had a very hard time putting it down to work, or do household chores. This may have felt a bit overwhelming at the start, but this definitely held me captive. I am so glad this series is complete, or I would have been very irritated with how Stateless left Kina and Callum. I am off to eagerly dive into book 2, Traceless.

Stateless is the newest spin-off from the Harmless, Shameless and False trilogies. The first few chapters are set prior to the other books, with the events of the later chapters occuring alongside Lindsay, Jane and Lily's stories. This book gives greater detail to the whole concept of the 'Stateless', mentioned throughout the other books. It outlines the bizarre training they are put through to be able to infiltrate certain areas in the outside world. Callum and Kina are the main characters in this book, both Stateless but set on very different paths by the people in charge. Kina is not sure who she can trust, as everyone seems to have their own agenda. All she can see is that she is not safe staying where she is. This book didn't initially draw me in like the other ones did, but I felt it got more intriguing as it went along. I look forward to reading part two and seeing where the characters go from here.
