After all 3 books in this trilogy, there are no answers to many of the questions & mysteries developed in the first book. Far too many loose ends and unanswered questions. I felt this was a waste of time & money.

I'm not sure if it was the slow start or the writing style, but I just couldn't get into this and gave up trying.

This book and the others in the trilogy are all part of a series of books that all fit in together. I recommend that anyone who is interested in reading the series should start with The Black Gryphon. Read the series following the time line of the series in order to get the most out of all of the stories. Mercedes Lackey is my favorite author because of the fact that she writes her books in series and not just one book that stands by itself.
