Vijay Singh Thakur is an Assistant Professor of English Language and Linguistics in the Department of Languages and Translation of Dhofar University (DU), Sultanate of Oman. He holds a doctorate degree in Applied Sociolinguistics. His main publications include Discourse Analysis of a Novel: Theory and Method and Sociolinguistic Perspectives of Politeness in Communication. He is a member on the editorial board of The Asia TEFL Journal, International Journal for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and Journal of English as an International Language. His research interests include Discourse Stylistics, Cross-Cultural Pragmatics and TESOL Pedagogy.
Adrian Roscoe, currently Professor of English at Oman’s Sultan Qaboos University, has also held chairs of English in South Africa, New Zealand, and Malawi, and a visiting professorship at the State University of New York. With interests in post-colonial literature and writing across the curriculum, his publications include books, essays, and reviews.
