I was looking for a brief escape. My friend loaned me the crown tower. A week and Two thousand amazing pages later I was looking for more from this author. The Riyria Chronicles were a richly written joy ride that brought original themes, new and authentic characters and layers of intrigues and richness of depth to a previously non existent world in the medieval fantasy genre.

Good ole fashioned fantasy fun. Written so well. Characters are loveable and hate-able and just great. Heroic and cynical main characters that are funny and just plain awesome. Painfully short though. Finished fast and was sad to know there wasn't more on that next page. Starting the next book now.

Every single book in the Riyria series is a hands down winner. Many layered characters complete with flaws that are both believable and enjoyable to discover. The plot flows smoothly and keeps you excitedly turning pages eager to learn what comes next. Intelligently written for a wide variety to enjoy. This one is a keeper!

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Michael J. Sullivan has lived in Vermont, North Carolina, and Virginia. He worked as a commercial artist and illustrator, founding his own advertising agency in 1996, which he closed in 2005 to pursue writing full-time. The Crown Conspiracy is his first published work.
