I so enjoyed this book, plenty of romance and action. Both characters, Cale and Grace are hurting from past experiences but physical attraction is there. Ok, so she is the only lady on the pirate ship, but Cale protects to his fullest! Once they open their hearts and emotions to each, they will find true love. Loved the parrot, of course you had to have one on a pirate ship. Great character development and dialogue between Grace and Cale. Enjoyed the descriptive writing. I have not read historical for many years and never a pirate story, but I sure enjoyed this story!!

"Her Pirate to Love" by Michelle Beattie is book four in the "Sam Steele Romance" series. This book can be read as a standalone. I have not read the previous books and I didn't have any trouble getting into the book. It does make you want to go back and read the stories before to get more insight into those characters. This is the story of Grace Sullivan and Sam Steele (Cale). I mostly read contemporary romance novels. This book is a historical romance with a pirate storyline. I had no problem getting into this book. The author grabs the readers attention right away. There is a lot going on in this book. You have hot steamy romance, adventure, and surprises along the way. At times the story had me on the edge of my seat. I even hollered out a few times and my husband thought something bad had happened with our kids. I really enjoyed Grace and Cale's characters. The story did leave a few things unresolved so I'm hoping there is another book in this series. You will not be disappointed in this book. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.

All Grace ever wanted was to return to Ireland. Now all she wants is to survive being held as the sadistic Pirate Roche's captive. Luckily, an attack by Sam Steele and his crew gives her a chance, especially when Steele, himself, takes her aboard for medical attention. Cale assumed the persona of notorious pirate Sam Steele after spending years searching for his missing wife and son. His grief at their loss and feeling that he didn't protect him has shaped the kind of man he is. He is a fair man with a crew that respects him, but has never forgiven himself. When Grace comes aboard, he vows that he will protect her so that she will face no fear on his ship. Afraid to trust a man after the abuse she lived through, Cale proves himself time and again, and her trust in him grows, as do their feelings for each other. There are hurdles to cross and there are twists, but the story is one that draws you in from the beginning. I love how strong and determined Grace is, and especially love that she is able to recognize her own short comings. Cale was another complex character who realized his need to grow and Grace's importance in that growth. The secondary characters added depth to the story, and, I can see the seeds planted for the next story. My heart broke near the end, but I will not say for who or why, because it is a spoiler! This is not the first in the series, but it is the first I have read and there is enough background when needed for this to work well as a stand alone. Be aware that if you start with this one, you will want to go back and read the others...I know I do. If you enjoy historical romances, I recommend this one! *I received an Advanced Copy from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.
