Anna owns The Witch's Brew Coffee Shop and Bakery. She does not use her witch craft. When Jackson arrives in town she believes her Aunt Polly has been up to her old tricks and put a spell on them both. When her ex dies in strange circumstances both Anna and Jackson feel that something is not right and decide to investigate. Aunt Polly is a hoot,. The plot is good and the characters well written. I enjoyed this mystery and look forward to reading more in this series I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Michelle Pillow has another hit in this story; love and murder are quite a combination. This is the 3rd story in "The Happily Everlasting Series" and was just great. This story revolves around Anna Crawford, the young witch who denies her heritage and Jackson Argent, the reporter sent to cover Everlasting's annual cranberry festival and the unusual magical happens that occur in the quaint New England town. The attraction between these two is there but an untimely death puts that attraction on the back burner while these two set out to solve the death when an lackluster and unmotivated detective writes off the death as an unfortunate medical reaction. Anna's Aunt Polly makes another appearance and what a kick this woman is. I liked how the clues were spun out and I for one didn't suspect who the culprit was or what motive led to the death. A victim being driven by heritage and and a doting family member caught me off guard. I was given this book via Booksprout as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4 Star review of Fooled Around and Spelled (The Happily Everlasting Series #3) by Michelle M Pillow Audio Review: Michelle M Pillow is a new author to me as is the narrator B.J. Harrison and I have no idea why that is. It’s a cozy mystery set in Everlasting, Maine (love the name) and one that I found enjoyable. There are twists, turns and surprises in Fooled Around and Spelled as Anna Crawford buries her head in the sand as she tries to deny her paranormal abilities and focus on running Witch's Brew Coffee Shop and Bakery (again I just love the name). All that changes when Jackson Argent, a reporter returns home to Everlasting to report on the local festival. When a a body turns up, he isn’t satisfied with the findings and decides to investigate and asks Anna to help him. What follows is a story filled with romance, mystery, humour, secrets and danger, with enough clues to satisfy my inner detective spirit. The narrator BJ Harrison was also new to me but I thoroughly enjoyed the voices that were used and they brought the story to life for me and enhanced my enjoyment of the story.
