It was mediocre for me. It got really interesting and funny for me In the epilogue and then made me want to read more in the series. It was well written, it flowed, however probably because it was a short story I felt the characters could have been expanded,they had great potential, it only touched the surface of what they could become. Good continuity, clueless love characters, snark and fun with of course a HEA. I love all of MS Pillows works and have yet to be disappointed enough to stop reading that book\series or taking on a new one from her. “He would jump into the unknown.” Drake snuck through the portal to Earth with no idea what was waiting for him on the other side. His description of the French Quarter in New Orleans is priceless, his journey to becoming Cajun charming, and his place in the community genuinely earned, and means some delightful secondary characters come into play. Lori is a photographer who thought she knew what she was out to take pictures of, but a night on the bayou goes off course and ends up reminding her that photojournalists have ethical dilemmas too. This done in one story is a fun quick read that ties in to the previous stories loosely, and sets up more in this series taking place on Earth… which likely means more Aliens trying to make sense of our world. I was gifted with a copy of this book and chose to share my review.
