Buch Z seiner Metaphysik will Aristoteles den Begriff der ousia bestimmen und feststellen, was das Wesen/die Substanz eines Einzeldinges ist. Dabei kommt er zu der Feststellung, dass sich ein Korrektum aus Stoff und Form zusammensetzt. Aber erst die Form gibt dem Stoff seine Bestimmtheit. Die Fragestellung der Hausarbeit lautet daher: Warum ist die Form mehr ousia als die Materie? Es wird der Begriff der Form untersucht und näher bestimmt. Zum Abschluss werden die Meinungen von Aristoteles und Platon zu diesem Thema gegenübergestellt.
