Il volume, frutto della collaborazione del Comune di Bergeggi con la Soprintendenza ai Beni Archeologici della Liguria e l’Università degli Studi di Genova, raccoglie organicamente la complessa mole di dati e materiali recuperati in otto anni di scavi sul sito denominato Castellaro di Monte S. Elena sulle alture di Bergeggi. L’indagine svolta ha permesso non solo individuare nuove strutture, ma anche di meglio chiarire cronologia e caratteristiche della frequentazione del sito e ottenere dati importanti per la ricostruzione dei commerci nel ponente ligure nel periodo della Romanizzazione e nei secoli immediatamente precedenti.
