"...INTELLIGENT AND APPEALING...SPRINKLED WITH JUST ENOUGH MAGIC TO BE BELIEVABLE."—Library Journal

In 1878, two adventurers set out for the unknown wilds of the Arizona territory. Dr. Polly Babcock is an archaeologist in search of a mythical healing jewel. Sir Shane McKinnon is an astronomer after the ancients' secrets of the stars. As enemies—then lovers—Polly and Shane embark on the journey of their lives...into a savage wilderness untouched by time. In the end, love proves the greatest treasure of all.

About the author

Given her background, it's no wonder Olga Bicos is a suspense novelist now—intrigue has run rampant in her life. Born in Cuba, she and her parents fled to the United States when Olga was just five years old. Her uncle, however, was part of an underground organization attempting to overthrow Castro. He was captured and held as a political prisoner for 15 years. Growing up, Olga was deeply influenced by her family's history. It fostered in her a need for justice that eventually led her to Boalt Hall, School of Law, at the University of California at Berkeley. She graduated hoping to pursue a career in international relations law, but went instead to an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles. Eventually she left to raise her children and to begin her writing career. She started out writing historical romances, five in all, and then moved on to suspense. Praise for Olga Bicos "A sensual, fiery novel…a hero to die for, a heroine of fierce independence... an unforgettable love story!" —Susan Johnson (By My Heart Betrayed) "A terrific writer who knows how to keep the reader turning the pages." —Amanda Quick (By My Heart Betrayed)
