Muscle Cars is the story of America's pursuit of sheer horsepower in the 1960s and '70s. The first of the type, the famous Pontiac GTO or “Goat,” would launch a race between America's automotive manufacturers to produce ever-more-powerful V8 engines wrapped in legendary “Coke-bottle” sheet metal styling. Colin Romanick has been attending regional Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) meetings since he was a boy, as well as the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) rally program and then later the Solo II or autocross program. Romanick is marketing coordinator for the Historic Services Division of the City of Newport News, where he coordinates an annual classic car show that features nationally recognized cars.
