Ratings and reviews

This is the first book in the Speak No Evil trilogy but is the latest book in the London Lord sets of books. Confused yet? It gets better. While there is a prequel to this trilogy, it's not necessary. However, there is an overreaching story arc which means that I wouldn't recommend reading this trilogy if you're not at least familiar with the other London Lords books and characters, and this book does not deliver a HEA but ends on a cliffhanger. As for the story itself, there was plenty of drama and heat between Bridge and Emma, as well as inclusion from the other London Lords characters. It came down to the fact, though, that I just don't particularly like either of the main characters - they're both manipulative, controlling and unwilling to listen to anyone else. They're both self-centred, arrogant and for the most part unlikeable. If I wasn't already invested in the story arc I wouldn't bother to read the other books, but I probably will.

4.5 Stars! Great start to Bridge's story! This is the 3rd set of books for the Lords of London and is the story of Bridge and Emma. They have known each other from when she was young. Now they are all grown up and they have both crushed on each other for years. Will they take the step and move forward into a relationship, or will their pasts kill any possibility of moving forward? There is great banter among the two main characters as well as the rest of the cast of characters in this book. Nana Malone writes strong, independent female characters and Emma is one to the max. She is often stubborn in her want for independence and not leaning on anyone else. She wants to know who killed her brother and will do what it takes to get her revenge. This may put her in more danger than she bargained for. Bridge can be really stubborn and grouchy though he just wants the best for everyone to protect those he loves. Will he be able to, or will it all blow up in their faces? Of course, the book ends in one heck of a cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.

Wow! The secrets, the deception, the rollercoaster of emotions. Sometimes it just seemed overwhelming. Bridge and Emma had so many hurdles to clear. The entire book kept me on edge. I was constantly waiting for the secret, the ex-girlfriend, the new boss, some new found information, an unrepentant father, or something to jump out from the darkness and tear everything to shreds. Even while Bridge and Emma were being combative, their chemistry was explosive. This book was sexy, romantic, and steamy. The dialogue was witty. While the story had elements of danger, suspense, mystery, and a touch of evil, I still found moments of being frustrated. It was a fast paced read, but sometimes it didn't seem fast enough. To top it off, we were left with one major cliffhanger. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
