About this ebook

One unsolved murder. A best friend determined to right the wrongs of the past.

On the 21st August Tabitha Rice disappeared without a trace. All the signs point to murder, but no signs point to a murderer. The easiest answer is her husband, Rick. But he protests his innocence and there is little proof he is the murderer.

Annabella knows there is more to the story than what the police are telling. Tabitha was her best friend and she vows to uncover the truth.

As Annabella delves further into the past, she uncovers sides to Tabitha that she never saw coming, and she finds herself asking the question... Was this murder? Or is there more to Tabitha Rice's story than meets the eye?

Perfect for fans of Louise Candlish, The Silent Patient and Blood Orange.

Having been introduced to Naomi’s work last year and really loving her previous two books, I could not wait to get stuck into the story for her third novel, Do Her No Harm. Holy moly, what a thrilling ride that you are taken on and I am pleased to say that it is 3 for 3 and this is another winner that Naomi has put together here! I am also happy to report that I learnt from my previous mistake when I read Naomi’s last book The Truth, which was to make sure that my kindle was fully charged before I dove straight into this story. My experience of not doing this the last time, was really a difficult time for me when it died at a crucial part and I had to wait valuable minutes while it charged enough before I could continue on with it! 🙂 (Yes, clearly I am still scarred by this!) Do Her No Harm tells the story of the mysterious disappearance, (presumed murdered), of Tabitha Rice and her best friend Annabella’s quest to find out what happened to her that night. All roads lead to Tabitha’s husband Rick and his behaviour as having something to do with her disappearance, but along the way, Annabella learns some harsh truths about Tabitha and her character that has her questioning if she really knew her best friend at all… Naomi has done such a great job with the plot, that is executed extremely well and with its telling of some of the story through a true crime podcast, which have become so popular of late, really was a great move on Naomi’s part to incorporate into the story. It gives it that extra something that enhances and what made this book stand out to me all the more. Right from the outset Naomi had me in her clutches and I was taken along for the ride to solve the mystery. I was completely caught up in it as I was transported from the present, back to the past as the three narrators of Annabella, Tabitha and Rick each demanded my attention, willing me to believe them as they told me their backstories and versions of events in the lead up to when Tabitha disappeared. When all is revealed it is not what I was expecting at all! Very well played Naomi. I take my hat off to you! With its striking cover, a strong plot, a cast of both likeable and unlikeable characters, one that moves at the right pace with tension and suspense that is cleverly built up along the way, to a thrilling conclusion and finally, that is all told through perfectly flawless writing, you can’t go wrong with this book! You are a natural born storyteller Naomi and I can’t wait to be swept up in what you come up with for us next! Thank-you to NetGalley, Aria Fiction and Naomi Joy for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Do Her No Harm which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this one, but it's an intriguing read. Annabella has spent the last five years trying to come to terms with the sudden disappearance of her best friend. Convinced that Tabitha Rice's husband is responsible, she has been funding a private detective to watch him but is getting nowhere so decides to be more pro-active herself. The more she digs, the more she discovers - and not all of it is what she expected to find. Did Tabby just disappear or has something more serious happened? Can Annabella get to the bottom of it all? I must admit to being completely mystified as to Tabitha's whereabouts; as the story went back and forwards in time, filling the reader in on the history of all those concerned I finally thought I had worked it out - only to discover I was completely wrong! However, by the final page everything is clearly explained and I was satisfied with the outcome. I didn't find it as gripping as I could have; with multiple narrators I had to keep checking to see who was 'speaking' quite often, but this is a cleverly plotted novel and a rewarding read. I'm very happy to give this one four stars.
